No more Labor Day?
Tyson Foods Processing Plant in Tennessee has decided to trade a paid Labor Day holiday for the Muslim celebration of Eid al-Fitr. Please remind me what country we live in again? The new contract also allows Muslims to have a "prayer room" in the plant. The union says that the prayer room is for peoples of all faiths and everyone can use it. Tyson claims the holiday was approved by 80% of the 1000 union members. Somehow I find that hard to believe. I have no problem with accommodating someones religious beliefs, however, this is crossing the line. This is America, Labor Day is an American Holiday. I'm tired of America accommodating everyone ese's religion, while Christianity gets spat on. During the Christmas Season, the P.C. thing to say is Happy Holidays, yet now we are giving people of the Muslim Faith a holiday in exchange for an American Holiday? Why not let those people who practice the Muslim Faith to take that day off?
