"An electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack on the American homeland...is one of only a few ways that the United States could be defeated by its enemies -- terrorist or otherwise. And it is probably the easiest....Depending on the location and size of the blast, the effect would be to knock out already stressed power grids and other electrical systems across much or even all of the continental United States, for months if not years." -- US Senator Jon Kyl in the Washington Post, 4/16/05
Ladies and Gentlemen,
While people like Senator Barrack Obama are making plans to speak with President Adolf Achmidinejad without precondition, and Nancy Pelosi is busy trying to "save the world", our enemies are plotting to destroy us. Who represents us today? You and I, the concerned Americans who are wonding what is really going on in the world? How long are we going to sit idle, waiting for the Iranians to become a nuclear power?
I am not a geophysicist or a nuclear physicist, however, let me explain what a nuclear weapon detonated over our country will do. Detonated 20 km over the U.S., a nuclear weapon would give off an electromagnetic pulse or EMP. This EMP would effectively cause all electronic communications to cease. Car batteries and electronic components would fry, our cell phones would not work. Computers and the internet-gone. Sattellite communications would cease. Essentially, all electrical grids, electric driven water and utilities would stop. We would be back in the 18th century in an instant. Our military would be helpless. Our Commander in Chief would have no effective way to communicate with his military and military leaders would have no way to institute a massive recall of personnel. My question is this, what are the leaders of our country doing to implement a disaster response plan, if this were to happen? Secondly, when will we have an effective missile defense online to help prevent this catastrophe? Citing a Washington Post article, Jon Kyle states, "Few if any people would die right away. But the loss of power would have a cascading effect on all aspects of U.S. society. Communication would be largely impossible. Lack of refrigeration would leave food rotting in warehouses, exacerbated by a lack of transportation as those vehicles still working simply ran out of gas (which is pumped with electricity). The inability to sanitize and distribute water would quickly threaten public health, not to mention the safety of anyone in the path of the inevitable fires, which would rage unchecked. And as we have seen in areas of natural and other disasters, such circumstances often result in a fairly rapid breakdown of social order."
It's time to stop paying attention to American Idol and Paris Hilton. It's time to wake up and defend our country. Our leaders are drunk with power and greed. At what point do we say enough? Here is one more thought from Jon Kyle, The Sept. 11 commission report stated that our biggest failure was one of "imagination."
It's time to wake up, America.

well done.
While Captain Planet is 'saving the world' I hope she drops a little democracy on it and allows votes to take place. What a power-laden political prostitute.
